Managed Services Engineer (2)

RemoteBunnik, Utrecht, NetherlandsManaged Services

Job description

The company

DMP is the best-known data management specialist in the Netherlands, and DMP is on the rise worldwide as well. With over 90 specialists, divided over offices in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and South Africa, we serve more than 350 customers worldwide, with our reliable and cost-effective data management solutions.

In 2020, DMP has been acquired by Broad Horizon group, provider of IT, data, and cloud solutions. With this acquisition, DMP (internationally) is growing even faster. Want to grow with us?

DMP colleagues are passionate, pleasant to work with, and highly skilled. We enjoy working every day to deliver our expertise to our customers, both independently and as part of a team.

That’s you

You are an energetic and cheerful discussion partner for your clients and your team, and you want to work as a specialist on technically challenging locations. You are entrepreneurial, a team player, and passionate for the work field. You have ambition and want to keep growing and developing. You can work independently, and you are inventive in creating solutions, but you are also passionate about improving the current situation.

What your day could look like

As the managed services engineer, you start by going through the daily checks on the managed customer environment(s). After this, the other tasks will be taken up from the administration, these can be very diverse and depend on what occurs in the environments. Think of solving problems, but also extensions of components such as disk libraries, clients, schedules, etc, but also setting up or redesigning configurations, performing backup- or restore requests, or proactively dealing with possible situations that may arise (think of minimizing the impact of ransomware attacks). In addition, there are also periodic tasks such as updating environments, including patching of various types of operating systems. In this role you are the application manager for our customer, meaning everything that has been agreed upon in the contract with the customer, is part of your daily work.

This job gives a pleasant routine, because you manage multiple environments, but comes with a diversity on the other hand, ensuring no day will be exactly the same.

'If I had to use one word to describe this role it would be diversity. No day is the same and you never know what awaits you tomorrow. You will notice that our expertise is really needed to solve problems quickly and adequately.' - Thomas Elmont, Senior Managed Services Engineer
